Tomorrow in my first academic conference ever
I will be presenting my paper, The Power of U.S. Imperialist Fuku and Resistance Symbolism in The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao.
I lost all my corrections and notes, so here is to a whole night of revisions.
I really, really want to get into “The Brief Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao,” but …
I’m a stickler for beautiful writing. Diaz’s writing doesn’t seem genuine, like he’s trying too hard. I’ve read young adult literature more engaging than this book. To top it all off, 75% of my library is non-fiction. Maybe I’m just being picky because I don’t read fiction much.
Nope that’s not it at all. I just hate pretentious writing.
